Visitor Visa

Visitor Visa

Canada attracts millions of visitors every year who come to explore the many opportunities the country has to offer as well as visit family and friends. If you wish to enter Canada as a visitor or tourist, you may require a visitor visa (often referred to as a temporary resident visa). A visitor visa is an official document that will be stamped into your passport to verify that you are admissible to Canada.

Visitor visas can be issued for a period of up to 10 years and a person can stay for a maximum 6 months at a time but it is possible to extend your stay if you qualify. Visitor visas can be issued on either a single entry basis or a multiple-entry basis. As a visitor you will be legally authorized to enter the country but you will not be able to work or study. If you are from a visa-exempt country, you do not need a TRV but may need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before entering Canada.
